Welcome to the St George and St Teresa Parish website

Monsignor McHugh

I am pleased to welcome you to the Website of St. George and St. Teresa, Dorridge.   If you are in the area of the Church around 12 noon or 6.00pm you will hear the new Bell, ”Francis”, ringing out the Angelus Prayer, which is traditionally said at these times. The Prayer can be found via the LINKS page on this Website.

After Easter the Church celebrates “Eastertide” (a time running right up to Pentecost) when we reflect on the presence of the Risen Lord with us today. In the course of these seven weeks we also have a special focus in the month of May on Devotion to Mary, the Mother of Jesus. It will be a particularly special time for children at St. George and St. Teresa School, as we plan to start work on the niche for a new Statue of Our Lady. Each year the School has a May Procession, where Mary is the focus of the crowning of the Statue, where we honour her as Mother of Jesus and a model of Christian Faith for all, especially children.

New Church Bell at St George and St Teresa Church

The new Bell at St. George and St. Teresa – called “Francis”
after the new Pope – will ring for the first time on Easter Sunday.
The Bell – cast to mark the Year of Faith in 2013 – has the
following words on it “Come Ring Out Our Joy to the Lord”;
very appropriate as we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus !
